A "One Trick Pony"?

At times clients like to “pigeon-hole” photographers. When they see a stunning shot of a building on a photographer’s home page, they think the photographer can’t shoot products or portraits. Vincent Van Gogh was notable for his landscape and still life paintings –does that mean he was never a portrait painter? Look at the amazing landscapes shot by the brilliant portrait/fashion photographer Albert Watson.

Trekking in Ladakh, Himilayan India

In September 2013, nine Aussies and one American touched down at the airport in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, a remote area in the north-east region of India. For two weeks they joined a team of local guides, cooks and horsemen to trek from Rumbuk to Dat and then by road to Korzog, returning to Leh.

We discovered a  land of paradox: dusty jumbled rocks, rich fertile valleys; howling nocturnal dogs in Leh, silent mountain outcrops; fierce midday sun, frozen water
bottles at night; infinite mountain peaks, crowded and tiny bakeries and tailor’s shops in Leh; grumpy Indian soldiers, smiling Buddhist monks. It overwhelmed my expectations.

This was a once in a lifetime experience!
